The Force MC's were Statin Island's original Claim to fame, the crew that put Strong Island on the map before Wu Tang Clan.
The group started in 1981, Comprised by brothers Stevie D., Antoine "T.C.D." Lundy, Rodney "Khalil" Lundy, and their uncle Jessie Lee Daniels. (Later, friends "Trisco" Pearson and Charles "Mercury" Nelson from the Mariners Harbor projects on Staten Island, NY joined the group.)
I first heard about certain members of this crew because "Stevie D" was also a boogie Boy, and we used to see "Jessie" at the famous club "the ROXY" In huge circles doing the best Michael Jackson impersonations. I heard that several members of the crew were BBoys and Boogie Boys. As it turns out, these brothers were one of the best crews when it came to a style of Hip Hop called "Harmonizing" This was introduced into Hip Hop Culture by way of DooWop (Guys street singing on the street corners of New York) This style of Harmonizing became popular in the early 80's when crews like Furious 5 and Cold Crush 4 were taking popular songs, changing the lyrics to street Slang, and Bragging and Harmonizing over Break Beats like "Rocket in the Pocket" by Cerone 4. Force MC's were considered young kids and novices until one day the performed with the established Cold Crush 4 MC's. Although the rumor is CC4 never knew it was a Battle. They FORCE MC's started to go in on CC4 and what resulted was one of the Greatest Harmonizing Hip Hop performances of all time. The Battle was declared void because CC4 did not know it was a battle. But that did not change the sound coming out of the Mix Tapes. Force MC's, eventually got a record deal and went on to become an R&B group called the FORCE MD's and recorded classic jams like "Tender Love" and "Love is a House"
